Account book [photocopy], 1786-1819.

Photocopy of the account book of Godfrey Lenhart, silversmith and clocksmith of York, Pennsylvania. Charges were made for making and repairing silver, jewelry, seals, watches, and clocks. For the most part, he was paid with cash, but also with table linen, tables, ground wheat, and ploughing. Most of the prices are in pounds, but some are in dollars. Interestingly, Lenhart noted the profession of some of his customers, perhaps as a means of identification.
